The client I chose for this campaign was Maui Camping Company, which had an outdated website and lacked a complete personal brand. Maui Camping Co. sells and rents out camping equipment and specialized kits. The deliverables for this project would increase their audience, and develop their brand identity. I created all aspects of this project; the logo, all illustrations, the body copy, patterns, the website, and all photography was my own.
To advertise the company I created an Instagram post to give them a social media presence and to increase the brand’s audience. For their local presence, I created a mural which would be placed beside one of the main highways or near the airport, drawing tourist attention as well. I also made a storefront since they don’t have one currently.
This website allows the company to expand their audience and to give their customers a place to view their products and services. All of the photography I used on the website is my own and the icons are hand-drawn. To view the active website, click the button below!
This brochure is a simple guide that shows different trails on Maui and their difficulty. Under each trail name are icons I made to represent the kind of scenery and wonders of nature you would be able to see on that trail. I included a key on the back of the brochure to explain the icons further. The major cities in Maui are marked on the map to make it easier to find the trails in relation to the person’s location.
These informational pamphlets are to inform both locals and tourists of safe camping practices. Even experienced campers need to know of any relevant dangers of the area they’re staying in. I created three pamphlets total, one for the tides, one for fire safety, and one for dangerous wildlife. These pamphlets would be handed out to each customer in the store as well as sent in the mail to expand their audience.
I created multiple items that can be sold in their store, such as a hat, backpack, and a matchbox. The company also offers meal kits, so I designed both an individual-sized and a group meal kit. Featured on most of the merchandise is a traditional Hawaiian pattern that represents the beautiful starry Hawaiian sky. Additionally, I created a set of collectible postcards that can be found in the store featuring some of Hawaii's exotic birds.
