In this assignment, I had to choose my own client and design a new logo for them. Because I haven't done many luxury brands, I decided to choose this fashion brand, Raven & Lily, which didn't have a logo. I wanted them to have an elegant and bright logo to stand out from their competitors, who had only used type for their logos. I chose to make the background watercolor, drawing inspiration from their watercolor graphics on their website, and if I had continued the branding, you would have been able to change the watercolor swatch depending on which section of the brand it was for; jewelry, bags, etc. This project was very fun and I now have a million extra watercolor swatches on my desk.
Out of all of my sketches, three ideas were my favorites. I made six renditions of each idea before settling on one. As for the watercolor swatches, I ended up making thirty-five before picking one.
