This assignment was for my cause-based design class, in which we had to choose a nonprofit organization to conduct research on and create design deliverables for based on that research. This involved many types of research, including surveys, interviews, secondary research, and compiling them together to write a research paper. Using the data we collected, we came up with strategy-driven design deliverables aimed to solve the organization's problem. The nonprofit I had chosen was the Native Plant Society of Texas, and in addition to the deliverables, we also created a book to document our process and our research. I first created the logo which shortens the name from the Native Plant Society of Texas (NPSOT) to the Texas Native Plant Society (TNPS). Additionally, I made a new homepage for their website and an updated Facebook page to help them better organize their information and increase their online presence. All of the photography and illustrations used in this project are my own. To view the active website, click on the button below!
I created a subscription box which would allow people who don't have a chapter of the organization in their area to still be able to learn about native plants and support the organization. The subscription box opens up opportunities to raise revenue and to expand the organization's reach to more people across Texas. Each month the box would feature a new native plant and includes seed packets, a small plant pot, a pamphlet that has information about the organization on the front and information about the month's plant on the back, and an illustrated card. Located on the card is a QR which takes you to a feedback survey, this allows the organization to learn about more opportunities to grow and improve.
